BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935)
I had to review this as part of a private joke between me and someone else. But even if that wasn’t the case, I’d still be telling you to get your hands on this movie pronto. It’s so good. It’s even better than the first one, and how many sequels can you say that about? Not many! It’s funny, it’s exciting, and it’s got Boris Karloff’s best performance as the Monster. Basically, the story is that the monster is back, and he’s demanding a mate. Enter Doctor Pretorius, who’s an old friend (or fiend?) of Dr. Frankenstein, and who’s got ideas of his own about how to create life. The scenes after the Bride is created are heartbreaking. But check out her hair! It’s CRAZY! (Ha ha ha!)
